Mothers Union  – meets monthly

St Elizabeth’s branch of the Mothers Union is the largest in South Australia. Mothers Union is a mission agency of the Anglican Church of Australia and part of the worldwide Mothers’ Union with links to 83 countries and over four million members who share one heartfelt vision – to bring about a world where God’s love is shown through prayer and loving, respectful and flourishing relationships.

Our branch is also  an authorised participant in the Australian  Government funded Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) for providing friendly volunteers to visit  older people in Australian Government subsidised local area aged care facilities who are at risk of loneliness or social  isolation. Volunteers set aside a time of at least once a fortnight to visit and befriend a resident on a one-on-one basis with the visitor and visited being matched by CVS on their shared interests. These may include simply sitting and chatting, reminiscing, reading, listening to music and playing cards or board games.

CVS volunteers are not required to be members of Mothers Union.

If you would like to know more, then please email or telephone our local CVS Coordinator, Deanne O’Nyons on 08 8377 2204. An information leaflet is also available.
