The Community Visitors Scheme
The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is an Australian Government initiative funded through the Department of Health and operates for us under the auspice(s) of St Elizabeth’s Mothers Union inc.
CVS Auspices are funded to:
- Support visitor-residents relationships in residential aged care homes
- Recruit, train and support volunteer community visitors
- Match volunteers to care recipients
Do you have some time to spare once a fortnight (or even weekly?)
Would you like to make a difference to the life of a lonely resident?
Volunteers make regular visits to socially and or culturally isolated recipients of Australian Government subsidised aged care services. The CVS matches aged care recipients with volunteer visitors, who make one-on-one visits in aged care homes.
Many residents have no friends or family members to visit them.
Visitors do not need to be attending a church.
Please contact us for further information.

The Men’s Club works in the Parish promoting fellowship and raising funds to maintain our Parish Buildings and grounds including the Rose Garden. We also assist various charities.
Join us on Tuesdays from 9:00am to 11:00am. Enjoy the fellowship of a friendly group of retired men as you work and over a cuppa at 10:00am. Don’t forget our regular Bottle Drives and annual Fellowship Dinner.
Friends of St Elizabeth
A ladies group that gets together on the third Thursday of each month for an informal meeting, which starts with morning tea and is usually followed by an interesting speaker or activities.
The group is also responsible for some of the housekeeping duties associated with the running of our church.

St Elizabeth’s Anglican Church has established a small Community Garden in the car park off Crew Street. You are welcome to take what you need but remember there are others. If you would like to become involved ring 8377 2204 and ask to speak to Marian or leave a message.
